Im mostly a 25NL player, feeling confident and thought I'd take a crack at 100NL. I took down one of my largest pots that I can recall.

My table image was fairly loose - 30-35ish VPIP in 45 hands or so and I had already busted two other players. Villian had only been at the table for 10 minutes. Doubled up when he hit a flush on the river (AQ suited). Won two other pots without showing.

Note that it was a 10 max table, but due to the recent busts we only had 6 players.

Results in white below:
villian has 9h Qh (one pair, nines).
Hero has Th 8h (straight, jack high).
Outcome: Hero wins $372.

My question is, did I have no business in this hand? and why would villian bluff off his entire stack? What did he think I had? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I won, but was clearly suprised when he called me down. Then I was dumfounded when he showed.

Is 100 at UB looser than 25?

Please advise - did I play bad and get lucky or was this a reasonable line considering my image, stack, recent success, and short-handed table.

you played it perfectly

including the raise preflop, IMO. this is a hand that i'm going to raise if i'm going to play it with no limpers in front. it's good for the image.

Mmmm.... I like it... sweet raise... sweet flop... sweet postflop play... not so sweet play on the Villain's part but that's okay. Ni' hand.

I think villian misclicked about five times or something during this hand. Yikes.

As for you, play is excellent. Nice hand.
