I don't really post here much , but I frequently read the advice posted here. I just need some feedback on a couple hands that I played tonight. Any input is greatly appreciated. I couldn't get the convertor to work , but I tried to clean it up as best as possible.
6 handed, blinds are 100/200, Hero is in the SB
Seat 1: UTG+1 (1420)
Seat 2: MP1 (395)
Seat 5: Button (435)
Seat 6: Hero (2810)
Seat 8: BB (1400)
Seat 9: UTG (1540)
Hero posts small blind (100)
BB posts big blind (200)
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to Hero [ 5h, Kh ]
2 folds
MP1 raises (395) to 395 all in
1 fold
Hero raises (2710) to 2810
Hero is all-In.
My logic here was that there are about 700 chips sitting in the pot and it will only be 300 to call. I wanted to play the hand HU, so I pushed. I felt that I had enough chips where losing the 300 wouldn't do much damage to my stack. I figured the BB would fold more than 90% of the time here and felt this push was fairly standard. I was subsequently berated by a few of the player at the table, so I'm not really sure if it was a good play or not. What do you think?
This second hand took place four handed with blinds at 150/300
Seat 2: Button (600)
Seat 6: Hero (2140)
Seat 8: BB (3750)
Seat 9: UTG (1510)
Hero posts small blind (150)
BB posts big blind (300)
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to Hero [ Qh, Ah ]
chaseel folds.
Button (600) to 600
Button is all-In.
Hero calls (450)
BB (3450) to 3750
BB is all-In.
Hero calls (1540)
Hero is all-In.
This hand I really feel I played poorly. My initial plan was to call and then just check it down with the BB even though there is a pretty good chance I have the best hand. Then the BB moved in and I figured I had to call. I am still just about guarenteed at least third with a great shot to be the big stack and in the money. The only way I finish fourth is if the Button beats both the BB and myself and the BB beats me. I'm mainly concerned with the initial call on my part. Is this any easy push? After I called and the BB pushed I assume I was correct to call that bet right?
Thanks for the help.
