This is a hand where I might actually consider a back-raise.

I'm not seeing it. Why are we 3betting the flop? is this to pump our draw?

with 3 people calling you...id get as much money in this flop as possible

edit: and wow, a carpal playing the quarter games? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

You've got the entire field trapped, this is textbook flush draw pot pumping... or something.

I love SB's lead-call-cap. Is that one in anyone else's playbook?

A read would be helpful, but just calling this river might be the best play. Yes you have the 2nd nut flush and you will only see the nut flush 6% of the time, but you have to consider these factors:

1) The Q /images/graemlins/club.gif on the river is huge. It is impossible for him to have Qx /images/graemlins/club.gif.

2) You hold both the J and T of /images/graemlins/club.gif. This means that he would have to be going crazy on the flop with 9x /images/graemlins/club.gif or less.

3) You can open up a big can of worms by raising the river. He is certainly going to 3-bet the nut flush so you have to be at least a 2:1 favorite over his flush to raise. I say this because we don't know what the action will be behind us. If we know that all these clowns will be willing to put 4 bets in, then we only have to be correct 25% of the time to raise. But we don't know that when the action gets to us as UTG+1 might fold (as the BB might as well) or he might have a boat and reraise.

4) The way this hand was played, you have to put the SB on a flush and he has to put you on a flush. If he had something like 65 /images/graemlins/club.gif it would be foolish for him to bet the river. Now he probably isn't thinking at this level but it is something to consider as you become a better player. You have all but given your hand away on 3rd and 4th (and getting value from it). But getting that value comes with a price. You have less room to make moves at the river since everyone will know you have a flush (or missed it). You should be scared when he bets into you.

I love the first 3 streets. I don't know about the river raise. KQ is a popular hand. Its probably okay though.

I was referring to the pre-flop action. I limp here (not raise) but once I know that 8 are in and I hold JTs, I'd like to put more bets into the pot (even though I am OOP). I haven't really ever done this, but I am looking for opportunities where it would make sense.

I wouldn't hesitate to pump the flop.

Turns out it was flush over flush over flush. I didn't see that one coming.

Results in white below:
BB has 6c 7c (flush, king high).
Hero has Tc Jc (flush, king high).
UTG+1 has Jh Kd (three of a kind, kings).
SB has Ac 9c (flush, ace high).
Outcome: SB wins 35.50 BB.

Yeah, sure smelled like a fullhouse in there somewhere. I came in 3rd best flush with a Q high though once so it does happen.

My god, I didn't even see the pair on the board. I think that I had to call 2 more back to me on the river though, right? Pot's way too big to fold the 2nd nut flush.

I could never fold there but I sure wouldn't expect to win. Never know though. The other two flushes could have been smaller. Never overestimate your micro opponents. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
