Big Blind is t400

why limp? putting over 40% of your stack in the pot, and if someone puts you all in, youre getting at least 2.9 to 1, which seems like an automatic call.

push or fold depending on how the table has been playing. any reads on the table?

How the hell did you get blinded down to 2x BB? Push, I guess.

Hero pushes. In the next hand the BB will take 1/2 your stack. I don't think you have an option here.

I of course pushed, but the crazy thing about the Step 5's is that there was a 100% chance that I was going to get called by 1 or more, and about a 75% chance(might be a slight exaggeration) that if I folded 2 people would go all in against each other, and I would back door the money. I believe it is the payout structure that creates this type of play. If you play a lot of Step 5's getting 3rd or 4th is -EV. If you are playing the Step 5's and are 35%-40% ITM, there is a good chance that you still could have a negative ROI because of the payout structure. Here is an example, if you play 4 tables, 4x1065=$4265, and finsih 5th,6th,3rd,3rd. Your payout= $3600. Therefore you are -$665 or a -13%ROI. If you money in 2 out of 4 in a $200, you are at most out the rake. Your strategy has to change, and you really need to play for 1st, if you are going to make money long term in the Step 5's. Not that you should not play for first in a $200, but a play for first, settle for 3rd mentality is at least break even at the 100's/200's. I would like to know if people who play a lot of Step 5's adjust there play to account for this?

I was called by QQ (MP+1) and AJ(button), AJ was knocked out in 4th place, and I in 5th.

Cmon man there wasnt a 75% chance that you make the money by folding. The number is much much lower than that.

I know, just making a point that it suprises me that people call pushes that I would not call at lower levels, and trying to figure out why? Why would AJ call here for all their chips? It is likely that I go out this hand, and even if I double up, I am still going to get hit with 600 in blinds next two hands. They have to figure I am pushing with any two here. I see this all the time, and believe it is the payout structure that dictates this play.
