Just wanted to confirm my play. Sorry I don't have a hand history but here's how it went:

blinds 400/800, all stacks after posting blind

hero (SB) 1200 (AQo)
BB 1200
utg 5000
button 5000

stacks are approximate (1500 starting chips) Level 6 going blinds going up to 500/1000 in 2 hands.

Now this game has been as tight as a crab's arse, there were 9 people remaining in Level 5

utg min raises (his range was high, i've seen A2+, so I tought I was in good shape), button folds, and hero pushed here. He showed 55 and I got no joy from the board when I flopped an A, but he rivered another 5, so he took it all. Was this the right play? Should have I folded and hoped for BB to be out first, beacause he's been pushing in with almost any 2 earlier.

if you feel comfortable mucking and playing for third, by all means do so. However, I would always push here. The blinds are going up like mad...

Yeah this site has an interesting SnG structure. I would also like to discuss it sometime, maybe in another thread.

It's 1500 starting chips and blinds:10/20,15/30,25/50,50/100,100/200,200/400,300/600,400/800,500/1000

at ANY buy in level.

I wonder what kind of play it would benefit, is it possible to apply the same kind of Party play.

Even if you want to play for 3rd, mucking AQ isn't how you go about doing that. That's how you finish in 4th.

What site? No, you have to play differently. More postflop play, easier to get away from AK & other hands on the flop.

Ladbrokes, the tables are full of drunk horse race bettors, but the numbers are pretty low, busiest times maybe 4000 people playing, downtime maybe 200, but they have an buttload of SnGs from 6s to 109s including 5 seaters, 8 seaters and normal. They use Prima network software, but they are not actually part of the Prima network.

And yes you can afford more post flop play there, but with AK you still want to be allin PF.

Right, but if its 15/30, you can push it up to 120 & you can make a flop bet & still get away if you get too much action. You can't always raise AK all in..
