Just got back thursday from a 5 day stint in sin city.
Stayed at orleans first night.
Lost about ten bets for every 1 i won at both black jack and Pai gow for first 3 hours i sat down.
Then finally got into a 10/20 game. Won 2 hands in 3 hours.
Ugh...down about 700 before trip is barely started.
Played in that evening $125 + $100 rebuy NL tournament.
120 people in....smallest stack once were down to 16 (top 10 get paid). Play my heart out and survive into 4th spot.
Get $1800.
Next evening play the $330 plus $200 rebuy MIrage NL tourney.
65 in....make it to final table and 7th spot.
Next evening mirage Limit $125 + $100 rebuy tourney.
Win it, but only 33 entries make for a small prize at just under $2000.
Next night, Mirage $125 + $100 rebuy + $100 addon NL tourney. 101 people in. Win it....and didnt even use a rebuy or addon. Got about $5000.
Next night (my last one)- mirage pot limit $125 + $100 rebuy. Never played a pot limit tourney before so i had some difficulties, but i wanted to try for 3 straight wins.
Long story short....50 people in, top 5 get paid....i get 5th for $1000.
all 5 nightly tournies made final table and money.
Won 2 back to back.
Also had great run at some 20/40 for 2 days.
Came away about $9k up.
Not bad for a 5 days stint.
And BTW, i stayed at horseshoe for 2 nights and ended up checking out. Rooms were disgusting...holes in the curtains made them look like swiss cheese when sun came in morning. CIgarette burns in blankets. An old/musty/smokey stench throughout building. Bathtub didnt drain so i stood in ankle hi puddles during showers.
And just to boot, the poker downtown is horrible. Almost no games at horshoe higher than 3/6, and thats the cradle of WSOP? nothing worthwhile at nugget either.
