Well, if I wanna win this I'm most definately gonna have to go through you, which most likely won't happen. =(

Final 18.

You'd think if you're going to raise for 1/3 of your stack you should be prepared to call for all your chips, especially when folding leaves you with 5BB.

Edit* hey PS allows you to save your HH's to your HD now..cool.

I'm watching and wish you both good luck, but can't say anything w/ no money in my poker stars account. I think I'm gonna put $11 in so I can at least sweat for this tourney during my break.

I'm at a very tuff table, and my cards have really sucked lately. I try to steal, with decent hands and swingy wants to play all in. My best hand was KK that was folded to my blinds.

Hope i get some decent calling hands soon!

LOL sloth, thanks for the sentiment, even if you don't make it.

I am really mad at myself for not leaving enough in so that I can chat. I had a blast last week playing the clueless guy when chief was in the running, would like to do it again. Oh well Good luck I'm watching.

im not sure, but i think you have to actually have a buyin for that specific tournament to talk in it, i may be wrong though.

and Swinger is officially the big W/T of the tournament, twice he has commited large potions of his stack, only to fold to reraise AI's. folding both times left him with 5BB's.

At least hes still in it though

*edit - make that three times.

I was just going to say about how w/t he is. You have to have $11 in your account to chat, you do not have to have played. And Gavin I didn't mean I was putting it in tonight although i think it sounded that way.

Tear it up fellows.

So is this play as bad as I think it was (or worse)?

8-handed, I'm UTG+1 with 55. Stack of 219K, I minraise to 60K when blinds are 15K/30K 1500ante. theory, a tough MTT player, moves in two spots behind me after thinking for a while. Folded back to me...and?

I'm positive that my minraise was stupid to begin with, but once I have done so, I need to call here, right?

Wow this guy is going to blind himself right out of this.

Yeah, I'd say most likely you need to take a stand.

Basically, i had 650k in chips. Villan (AQ) raises to 320, i have QQ and push all in. Is this a situation to call, and push on an aceless flop?

I figure if i just call, then so does wsop with his AJ, and if i push, while the villan may fold, wsop probably calls since a J flopped, and the Ace on the turn still beats me.

ARG

Oh well, at least i cashed pretty good.

night all

I think you played it right, you had to isolate and get it heads up so Gavin didn't call. You got your hand in with the best of it, just bad luck. Congrats on the finish though man, GJ

With the action in front of you, you played it the only way you could. Good game Gavin, I missed the bust out.

Also, I'm really not sure what to make of swingys play it has definately been W/T but somehow he made it work.

The mini raise i don't think is horrible if you plan on folding to a reraise. If you were going to call then it makes no sense with your stack size and blinds at 15/30K. You would have been better served to push and try and take down the blinds uncontested. If you miniraise and someone puts you all in you can still fold here and have 6.5BB and some FE for a future steal. to get those chips back. JMHO.

Good points, I think my mindset switched halfway through the hand. The min raise, while I still don't like it, was designed to help me get away from a re-raise. Now when I'm faced with the actual decision, I convinced myself that he had AK instead of an overpair. And yes, if I was gonna call the reraise, I 100% should have pushed from the beginning. Ugh, I royally screwed that up.
