I was playing in my Bi-weekly home game yesterday ($25 buy in, NL, tournament style, no re-buys, 7 players, 1st and 2nd get paid). When it got down to heads up, it was myself and another player whom I consider to be very solid, and well versed in the intricacies of heads up play. Now to the hand:

Blinds: 150/300
Hero:~2400 chips
Villain:~3600 chips

Hero is in SB with K /images/graemlins/heart.gif J /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
Hero raises to 900
Villain thinks for a few minutes and moves all in

As for any additional read, I figure he would have done this with any pair, Ax, two face cards, and was fully capable of a stone cold bluff in this situation, assuming he read me to be on a bluff, as I had been stealing many blinds and moving in a lot.

Any comments/explanations to your choice would be appreciated.

if you raise 900 you're nearly pot committed here so just go all in

I was looking for a call, then I could move in on the flop.

Folding this would be insane given the pot odds and how your hand stacks up vs villians range. YOu practically have oods if he shows you Aj.

Anyway, I called and he turned over aces, leaving me as a 5 to 1 underdog. But it's nice to see that the majority of you would have done the same.

I'm pretty sure everyone pushes preflop. Your play was wrong, but the result was the same.

Weak=Strong, no? I'd fold.

He was just trying to figure out if he wanted me to see a flop or not.
