THis hand did not convert very well.

I had k-8 diamonds on the SB. Folded round to the button. He minraised. My read on him was aggressive and capable of bluffing from his previous plays. So I figured an all-in from me might shut him down and get me 300 chips. So I pushed. He called, he had a hand. This is not a bad beat story I would not have pushed with 1500 chips. My stack size is what led me to push. Is that correct to feel POOSHY at 9*BB ? How about 10*BB, 15*BB ?

Advice here.. is 9*BB plenty of chips and I can afford to relax or is 9*BB time to get POOSHY ?

I actually did this today to someone with almost this exact hand. I had QQ in the SB, folded to me, and I raised the BB. BB insta-pushes on a "re-steal," and I call and take it down.

I'd be very careful doing this too much. Some players out there are sneaky enough to min-raise with a monster hand in LP, hoping that they'll be "caught" on a steal. As for this hand, if you DID consider him on an actual steal (very read dependent IMO), then I don't see anything wrong with defending your blind.

I DID put him on a steal.

We were just entering the "STEAL ZONE" and I figured he would be the first to start.
