View Full Version : Quick preflop question
I'm really bad with open limping. This might help.
Typical loose micro game. It's folded to you with JTs. What's your play if you're in:
A) MP1?
B) MP2?
C) MP3?

This is not quite specific enough. I need individual reads on the people behind me and the blinds.
I will say this: I will never open limp in the hijack.

On A) and B) I would probably just call, to try and gain a few extra customers. On C) I would raise because now the chances of a blind steal are better, and JTs is a pretty good hand even when you are called.

Greg is right, reads are EXTREMELY important, but if the game is typical I'd do what I said above.

So with a speculative hand, would you be more inclined to open-raise with looser, or tighter opponents?

The looser yr opponents are behind you in this situation, the more inclined you should be to limp. The tighter they are, the more you want to raise.
Like I said, this is an embarassingly weak part of my game. /images/graemlins/blush.gif
So if you don't have a decent chance to buy the button or the hand itself, then you wouldn't lower your pf-raising standards?
