Heads up Tourney need help

i play party poker tournies ranging from 5+1 to 10+1 dollar tournies, and i usually do fairly well on those. But i suffer at tournies where the blinds are small. I tend to want to go for the kill and press my hands. Usually running into a better hand. Any suggestions?
