Please dont make me get into this argument. I lived in West Hartford CT, 40% jewish population. Jew is perfectly acceptable, used by jews and non-jews. It is in fact that correct term. There is no other term to compare it to even to say that it is wrong.

Never heard it once in my whole life. It was a very politically correct area, and I would say I was amazed at the fact that very little stereotyping on jews was ever expressed in the town. They weren't viewed any differently than catholics or protestants or whatever, which was a good thing.

Your statement is utterly incorrect.

"Jap" is a term that came into usage in the US during WWII, and is clearly derogatory. No Japanese person ever referred to himself as a "Jap."

"Oriental" is a term which is not preferred by ASIAN people, and again, not used by them.

"Jew" is a proper term for a Jewish person, and one which is used all the time in the Jewish community.

And NO, they didn't "reclaim" it like blacks with "nigger" and gay people with "queer."
