View Full Version : Best Band Ever (tourney)

Over the next couple of weeks I think we should have a tourney as to whom we think is the best band (or solo artist) ever.

We'll split it up into 4 groups: 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's. Sorry to anyone who wants <50's or >90's, but I don't care.

I'll recieve nominations for each group and then I'll make a poll and the top 4 (or 8 if better) will make it to the big tourney. From there it will be single elimination until we have a winner. What do you all think?

If there aren't too many objections, I'd like this to be a nomination thread for the 60's as well. Oh yeah, and if this is a shitty idea, let me know and I'll can it.

Everyone has widely varying tastes in music. These don't solve anything and just start a lot of pointless arguments. Then again, that might be a good motto for OOT.

No. Just no.

But if it goes on, VU better [censored] win.

There are like 15 bands that will get all the votes. This idea sucks. Don't even bother doing the 60s either.

Why are you doing this? Maybe at least wait until all the other tourney BS is over with? Even then, probably dont do it.

This one's pretty obscure...
The Beatles.

Yardbirds
Cream
JHE
Rolling Stones
The Doors
Grateful Dead
Jefferson Airplane

Note: I am not a fan of all these bands.

I agree if it's just the 60's.

It would be a good fight if you added in the decades since then.

Tomorrow night I will be closing nominations and the polls will begin. It will be a multi-vote poll and whichever 4 get the most, will advance to the round of 16. 2 days for each round.
