I was going through this hand (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=2173755&page=0&view=colla psed&sb=5&o=14&fpart=1) which is a common hand and decided i'd help my dad out with the situation.

I wanted to help him visualise how to hand read. The way i visualise it is with a probability tree and with each of villians decisions i visualise it going down one 'street' of the probability tree.

After that i decided to go through the maths to decide if Hero should slowplay or not (hero flopped a set), in my diagram i assumed it was heads up, which the hand that was posted wasn't; there's also some other pretty big assumptions in there that have a BIG affect on the EV of each case, if you guys really care it will help a lot if you change the assumptions and then do the math for these, i.e. assume only 50% of unknown players will bet AK - AJ on the turn and then see the EV.

Anyhow, i figured someone else may benefit from this so here's the MS Paint diagram.

(Ed Miller also did one of his quizs on flopping a set and playing each one different, if someone could link me to that and the other quizs it would be great)

I would suggest a variation in which the left guard pulls to block out the weak side linebacker, but that's just me.

You should change the font to Arial for Verdana, with a size of 11 or 12.

This thread has a set of links to Ed Miller's quizzes which were published on Casino and Gaming TV, link (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=1338366&page=&view=&sb=5& o=&fpart=all&vc=1).

I'm not sure if these include one about playing a set differently though; I haven't yet gone through them.
