Here is the game. Hero is playing in a weak 1-2NL game that is currently only holding 7 players. He is in a late position just before the button. And looks down at A 8 off. Since it has been folded around to him and it isnt a full ring Hero raises to 15, his normal raise as he does not vary his raises pre-flop in order not to give away any info and gets two callers.
The flop comes rainbow 7 9 J. It is checked around the turn brings 6. Giving Hero a double belly buster as a 5 or 10 complete his straight. And leaving him an overcard the Ace. At this point there is 52 dollars in the pot and SB bets 25$ Raising the pot to 77$. BB folds over to Hero who...Please comment on what you believe here should have done here. Hero called as he counted 11 outs and knew if he hit his DBB he had huge implied odds. The river brought the 5 and hero sure enough to down a big pot. Poor play? please explain what if anything should be done dif?

The Hero made a mistake in not making a continuation bet on the flop with his A-high/gutshot draw.

Also, I'd fold. Your A outs may not be good and you won't get paid off if you hit your 5 or 10.
