View Full Version : BB per 100 win rate? There is just no way this can be sustainable…

Long story short the site I play on keeps track of your stats, including big bets won per hand. Over the past 4,000 hands mine has been .12 (12BB/100). Over the previous ~5,000 was .11 (11BB/100), and the ~2,500 before that was .8 (8BB/100). (I reset it periodically because the software starts to bog after a while, I also have more hands I won $$ over the course of but no stats for.) Most of this has been at $1/$2 but I have recently played in some $2/$4 and $4/$8 games that were too good to pass up.

When evaluating my own play see many instances where I lost more than I should have and failed to win what I should have due to inexperience and lack of discipline. I really need to reread TOP and 7CSFAP.

Let me be the first to say: This should be totally unsustainable and my sample size is squat. I am patiently waiting for my big comeuppance; but then again the skill level is much lower than Hold'em, I have more information on what everyone has, and two extra streets to get paid so maybe…

In any event, what is a reasonable win rate?

Out of curiosity what site do you play on? I wish party had this feature.

From the context of his post, I would assume he is talking about PokerRoom. PR is my home site and they have the same limits he is talking about(specifically 4-8) and the same type of tracking software where they track you earn rate in BBs per hand.

Right on the nose. So what is sustainable?

No idea. Sorry bud...I only play stud8 and I havent even played enough of that to know what a reasonable win rate would be. Your sample size isnt THAT small though.

EDIT : I saw you played like 5000,4000, and 2500 hands right? Its true you might be running really well but I would guess you can at least make 5BB/100 over the long long run. Those 1-2 games are pretty terrible...I mean really terrible! lol. I play every now and again when I am bored but not to much. GL at the tables...

I've been experiencing similar success with Pokerroom 2/4 and 4/8 - about 0.1BB/hand. What's your screen name?

2/4 is 0.25 ante with 1 bring in. 4/8 is twice that.

Hi All,

I've only recently been keeping track of my BB/100 for the last month, so this might not be helpful. Since I started playing £20/£40 (with a £3 rake, £1 ante, £10 bring in), and after 7,400 hands I am making 1.4 BB/100...I am not sure how accurate this is, since a 50 BB swing in a session can still alter my win rate by .5BB/100. I still think that my actually win rate could be anywhere from .5-3 BB/100. I think I would want about 50,000 hands to feel confident within .1BB/100 of my win rate.

I'd be interested to hear how mnay people actually keep track of this info, especially for the tightly structured games of $5/$10 and up. I know that when I played on Party Poker it was a real pain to keep track of this info, so I eventually gave it up and started keeping track of BB/hr.

Regards,
Carlos

the site. This # can easily be estimated. I'm guessing between 45 and 60.
Then #BB/100HANDS=(100/N)X(#BB/HR)

Hi Bull,

I have thought of this, but because I would play anywhere from 1 to 4 tables, for random amounts of time, it was hard to make much more of a rough estimate. I guess that on average I saw 100 hands an hour.

Statistics finally caught up with me. I have played the past 1,000 hands or so with a win rate of -2BB/100 but still a $35 profit, bizarre.

I am really begining to think that between 8-10BB/100 is reasonable. The players are just horrible. (Although lately I have become one of them.)

Again I ask, what's your screenname on Pokerroom?

I wrote a tool that counts the number of hands you played on party (sorts HH on harddrive).

It will tell you how many hands you anted in
how many you called/bet/raised (ie VP$IP)

i don't see why 10BB/100 would be unsustainable at 1/2- the players really are that bad- i'm probably close to that at 1/2 stud /8- not at higher limits, of course, but there seems to be many more donators in stud, esp at pokerroom.
