Villan is a LAG (but only over a very small sample size), who luuuuuuurves his aces and kings. The table as a whole is fairly tight, especially for a Saturday afternoon...that's why I 3-bet PF with 99. I don't respect UTG's raise, and I want to chase the rest of the table away and play him with my 9s.

When he C/Rs the river, I'm worried about a slow-play of either a set of aces or a flush, but I'm not really sure why. Scratch that, I know why: it's because slow-playing is the new fast-playing, and everybody and their brother seems to be sitting on hands until the river, regardless of their holding.

Call down, or 3-bet and call the inevitable cap?

I think it's fine. He could be c/r any ace here.

I'd 3-bet and call a cap.

3 bet and call a cap.

A LAG could be check/raising several two pair hands here.

Come on you got a set. Don't fear the worse, you beat a lot of hands villain could be raising with here.

Given that UTG raised before the flop here, I think the only logical flush hand he has is KQs, so I think 3 betting the river is a good play, although I probably would just call the raise myself.

You gotta get away from this "logical" thing. Villan flipped AJo.

Edit: And I felt like a weak-tight schmuck.

that's why I 3-bet PF with 99.

I really like the PF 3-bet. You can do this more often than just a tight Saturday afternoon. I find an opportunity for this raise pretty frequently. Its all about position & timing.
