I never quite understand why people want to slowplay monsters. I figured here it's just like slowplaying trips, anyone is going to be scared of a four, and if I check the flop, and raise a bettor on the turn it will scream trip fours. So why not just play it straight up? Sometimes I think playing monsters this way is actually being deceptive at these low limit tables.

So here's proof that you can play you're monsters straight up and still win big pots.

NH.

I got quad 6's and quad 8's within 5 minutes of each other last night. Played them both with gonzo aggression and got every street capped both times. I am never slowplaying again!

Against low-limit players, this is almost always the right move. But against people that require a hand to call with on the flop, you should give them a free card on the flop.

Well played though, always make the optimal decision for the people you are playing against.

His bet lost only two callers who may not have called a turn bet anyway. If they both would have called a turn bet, then hero is down 1 SB. If either would have folded the turn anyway, hero gets more money this way. Well played, and thank goodness this isn't another slowplaying post.

Well played...although I raise preflop with 44 when I'm going to flop quads.
