My sister is in AC to play a womans poker tournament tomorrow, but she's been playing in the daily events for the last few days, and I came down to join her. I know this is a multi, but since I basically only post on this forum I'd rather just post this hand here.

Anyway, there are like 16 players left, they pay the top 18 so we are already in the money. The blinds are 2000-4000 with a 500 chip ante. The Cutoff seat goes allin for 6000. I have something like 32k chips and I'm in the SB with 85h. The BB so far seems like a pretty tight player whom has about 45k chips. Some players have like 60-100k in chips at the table. The table was 8 handed to begin the hand I believe.

What would you do?

(MORE DETAILS)

1st place was about 9-10k 2nd was like 4500. 10th-18th was about 320, 9th - 450 etc. The prizes only started to get decent around the top 3-4. The buyin was $225.

Is the BB a tight moron, or a tight good player?

If he's a moron I would reraise to try and get him out and make sure CO doesn't take the pot.

If he's a good player I fold and let the BB call.

The BB was surely not tight enough to fold for 2k more if I were to fold. He was folding a lot of hands though as a very shortstack, giving up all his fold equity and was basically down to the felt when he eventually got lucky to win 2 hands in a row and regain some chips.

Ok, then I just fold and let him do the dirty work.

8 handed, thats 10k in the pot to begin with and 16k after he pushes right? I'd probably push or reraise to get the BB out and take chances against shorty getting 4-1. But I can be a too aggressive trying to accumulate in MTTs, I'd like to see what everyone else has to say.

I can honestly say I might fold, push or call depending on exactly how I felt.

Well okay, I pushed since I knew the BB will fold over 90% of hands. I'm pretty sure this math works out very clearly in my favor. Anyway the BB calls with ATs after a long think, and I ended up losing.

Of course my sister overheard the people at the table talking about how it was the worst allin they'd ever seen. Not only that, but the BB was criticized sharply for even calling with ATs by a few of the table geniuses (Against any reasonable player this should be a very easy call).
