Betting the turn makes this much much easier to play. As it were, calling two cold sucks so I don't hate a fold.

Why not bet the turn? I can't think you would be against a 6 all that often. You have top pair still. So, yes, I think you are a giant vag on the turn. An ace might be a reason to slow down, since people love to play A-trash.
