*OFFICIAL* RAPTOR CHALLENGE NUMBER 2!!!!

ok, so the first raptor challenge went off with a bang a few weeks ago, and everyone seemed to do quite well and enjoyed it, so maybe ill make this a once a month thing or something, who knows. each time we will have another stupid goal to hit. could be fun, who knows, and hopefully profitable /images/graemlins/wink.gif

ok, so here's whats goin down this time. last raptor challenge the goal was 500 sngs in one week. i knocked that out without too much trouble. challenge 2 is going to be a single day event, done in under 24 hours. the goal is to play 150 100+9 sngs in this time period. this isnt a HUGE test of endurance, but will still take quite a while to complete.

i will be playing the 100+9s on 3 accounts, probably 10 tabling. 12 is too stressful and i wont be able to post or talk on aim, so 10 works for me. i will be starting at 11am CST, so ill be able to knock em out by a reasonable hour. the accounts ill play on are Bebop86, wtf_pwnd, and Pillow86, so feel free to say holla if ya see me.

everyone should join in on this challenge. if 150 is too steep, aim for 100, or even 50. whatever goal you want to set for yourself do it. im going to try to hit 10% roi, i duno if i can, but if i do 1500 sounds nice. anyways, good luck to everyone who participates. /images/graemlins/wink.gif holla

I saw you at the 22s last night and tried to get on your table. Somehow I ended up at dfscott's table, who promptly ignored me. I wanted to make fun of him for folding his SB on level 1, but maybe he was away and not listening.

Anyway, we were still 10-handed at level 4. We only had 1 hand even go to showdown. This was a Friday night!

Of course, I pushed some garbage when it was folded to my SB and BB called with A9.....and I'm out in 10th. 22s suck!

I started 3 33s at the same time and there was an average of 6 players left in those games when I busted out 10th in 22.

Conclusion: Irie is the puppet master.

Those stats are horrible Apathy. I think you need to step down to the 5+1 since you're *OBVIOUSLY* not good enough to play the 109's. i hate my life. my internet went down at about 7pm cst. i had completed 110 sngs at that time. naturally i start punching walls and cursing very loudly getting very irritated at the fact that every time my internet goes down i lose a thousand bucks.

im very dissapointed that i couldnt complete my own challenge. had it not been for that setback, i would have been done around 11pm or so. sigh. im really looking into moving to california, near LA or something. at least i would get away from this crappy internet connection. that alone would pay for the cost of living difference. then to be 10 minutes from commerce and that 40-80 game.. damn..

anyways, ill be trying to do another challenge sometime soon at some point. this one didnt go so well, and im sorry i failed. 110 by 7pm. i was well on my way.. bah, next time, if the net doesnt go down, i will NOT fail. hope everyone else's challenges turned out well /images/graemlins/wink.gif holla

no im an idiot. i dont have a phone in my apartment, so no dial up, and the apartment complex has a monopoly on the internet, you can only get it through ygnition, and its pure crap. hopefully i will be outta there soon and on to bigger and better places /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Well, I'm done for tonight, so I figured I'd give my stats:

30 games: 3% ROI (yes, 3%), 47% ITM. What's even worse is just how embarassing this is: 1/3/10/16

At this point, I'm looking at my endgame play as a large culprit. These are my first 30 games over at Party (a big difference than the UB SNGs I'm used to), so I'm not expecting gold here. I think my major issue with this structure switch is not having the balls to pull the trigger when it comes to steals. I know what's correct, but I'm sitting there afraid to push into a big/comparable stack when I know that there's a small stack ready to head out. By the time I do make it ITM, I'm fighting an uphill battle. Of course there are the times when a big stack will double a small stack, and I'll be cursing myself for not stealing as much as I should have been.

Of course, I was on a bad run today (I ran into aces six times. Can someone run probability on that?), so 30 games isn't indicative of how I'm really doing. We'll just have to see.

UB to party is a HUGE difference. I am back to UB after a frustrating stint at Party. You end up with a different set of reflexes at UB, much different than what you need to win at Party. I may go back because the speed is attractive but I need to analyze why I play a good game at UB and a bad game at party. One site rewards the bold and the other rewards the patient.

Raptor you really need to move into a place where you can get a cable connection, a DSL connection and have dialup for backup on top of those two. One buy-in is all you need a month to cover that cost... Save you a ton of money for crappy connections.

yes yes i know. i have an interesting situation that i am definitely trying to get out of. im really looking into moving to the LA area, as i dont really have many ties to the dfw area, other than friends/family/poker clubs, stuff like that. i can pretty much pack up and leave wheneve i want, so whats stopping me? that i dont know, but im trying to figure it out. theusher has been helpin me out try to find a decent place in the LA area, and i can find something nice, get a moving company to transport my screens, buy a decent car when i get there for a good price, then ill pack up and do it this week. i really detest living here with the crappy internet.. but soon, i wont /images/graemlins/wink.gif

as for my roi over those 110 i did play? sigh. i wish i wouldnt say. i was up 1400 over the first 24 sngs, then i managed to be down after the first 90. then i did decent, brought it up a bit, then my internet went down. i finished the day with a strong 1.8% roi, 36.4% itm, for a massive 210 total profit. woohoo. holla
