I was at a friend's house, and he's playing a 20+2 SnG at Party. He's severely shortstacked on the bubble (about 1100 chips and the blinds are 250/500) he's UTG and was dealt A5s and we decided that it was a good time to push, he ended up getting beat by the BB who had 88. Was this a bad move or not?

What hand are you waiting for if you don't push this?

we figured it was a good push because he was big blind next and would have no chance to push later since the blinds were almost half his stack.

I agreed with you. You asked if it was a bad move or not, and I said not. Then I asked what you would be waiting for if you didn't think this was a push. I think this is one of the easiest pushes I've ever considered, which is why I answered it. I'm normally a ring game player and I'm just trying to get my toes wet at SnGs.
