View Full Version : How many could you eat?

How many of these can you eat?:
http://www.angrydome.com/wp-content/humanity.jpg

Ground Rules:
Burrito: Barbacoa, Rice, Pinto Beans, Tomatillo-Green, sour cream, no cheese. this it not negotiable.
Time: 1 hour.
Puking during the contest or the immediate one hour following is grounds for DQ.

Any variance in burrito size is just that, variance. You must eat the burrito made for you.

This was an annual contest with my roomates and myself. I'll hold back the winning number to see what other think about this.

Edit: A fair amount of money is on the line if that changes anything.

2.

I have done it once before, and nearly threw up. I think there is a 100% chance I would have if I'd eaten another bite.

I'm a fairly good sized guy who loves to eat and I'd hurt after two. If there was a lot of money on the line I could probably force down 3 then hate myself for the rest of the night...

The winner, in all his glory, had 4 burritos in the 2003 edition. 2002 was 3.5 and 2001 was a bit over 3. I had 2.5, 3, and 3 in chronological order.

I'm suprised nobody has said four, or anything closer than 3.

three is about the limit for most normal people. I think the rice and beans get to be too much after this. You should easily be able to get the bet and win it, as long as you did an adequete job of stretching your stomach the week before.

ok, the burritos have DEFINITELY shrunken over time. What was once a behemoth of dense food is now a much more manageable normal-person-friendly entity...Its still hard for me to imagine stuffing down 4 of them, but then again if you watch that japanese food eating champion down 55 hotdogs, anythings possible.....

What used to be 24 ounces of goodness is now down to, at the contest location in La Jolla at least, just over a pound on a good day, often times right at or under a pound. I have resorted to getting all four salsas and lettuce on my burrito, just in an effort to girth it out. However, I was still amazaed that my friend put down four.

Has anybody ever eaten at Annas Taqueria that has eaten at Chipolte. I'd like to know how they stack up against each other before I make my statement.
Ah hell, for money, I say 3. For mucho money, 4? I mean I have no idea how big these things are.
Also, no cheese? Why?

Corey
04-15-2005, 07:28 PM
See above on wieght issues. I remember in early 2000 they used to advertise it as a pound and a half burrito. Now they offer tortilla-less burritos.

Say on average they're a poung each. I'd say about 30-40% comes form rices/beans. 30-40% comes from the meat, and 20-40% comes form the rest of the [censored].

No cheese because back in the day Chipotle had three iteams: Burrito, Tacos, and Barbacoa. The "barbacoa" came with the same barbacoa meat, it just had a set listing of ingredients. Now, it's glory has been stripped and it's just another meat.

I've done three vegetarian ones in one sitting on one occasion after not eating for a day. It was very very difficult, and I'm known for being a big eater. I don't think anyone but a very large man would be able to wolf down more than three with the barbacoa. 3 alone is a triumph, 3.5 would be extremely impressive.

I am a big dude. If I was really hungry 4 could be done without vomiting....5-6 might be a problem....10 is out of the question too much rice and beans and crap.

If you are from Chicago the better ? is how many El Famous burritos can/have you eat/eaten in one sitting.

Ive downed 3 and thats with chips and guacomole.
