How do you manually calculate race probability?

For example, I know that AA vs an under pair is approximately an 80% favorite. I also have memorized some other key matchups. However, I would like to know how to figure this out myself and rely less on memorization.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I suppose you can enumerate all the possible outcomes and see which hand wins, but I think the easier way is to just memorize them.

No problem. Just evaluate each hand against the 1,712,304 possibilities for each "Hand vs. Hand".

A more usable strategy is to memorize the following situations:
<ul type="square"> Higher Pair vs. Lower Pair (AA vs. QQ) - 4.5-to-1 Pair vs. Two Overcards (JJ vs. AK) - 11-to-9 Pair vs. Two Undercards (AA vs KQ) - 5-to-1 Pair vs. 1 Over and 1 Under (KK vs. AQ) - 5-to-2 2 Overcards vs. 2 Undercards - (AK vs JT) 5-to-3 High/Low vs. 2 Middlecards (AJ vs. KQ) - 3-to-2 High/Medium vs. Medium/Low (AQ vs. KJ) - 7-to-4 [/list]
