My girlfriend is going to Spain next week for a couple of weeks and I want to get her something cool and or useful for her trip.

I haven't travelled too much so I don't know what kind of stuff I should be looking for. My price range is about $50 but I'll pay more if its something really swank.

Who's got some suggestions?

She can manage the usual gracias, ola, beunos noches and that's about it.

I am a big fan of those pilows that are shpaed like U's for the flight, practicle, but not "swank". A good/interesting book is nice, something she can bet obsorbed in. Is she visiting friends or going alone?

I've done a lot of traveling in northern and central Europe--but not Spain. A practical suggestion--Europe-usable hairdryer if she doesn't have one. A swank suggestion--silk undies that wash easily in a hotelroom sink and dry quickly....Check out a catalogue like TravelSmith for handy items especially for travel....

1. wind-up alarm clock (no batteries or plugs)
2. set of converters (for electricity)
3. music (ipod, CDs)
4. money (she may appreciate the cash, particularly if you change it over to euros for her ahead of time)

I like the pillow idea, the hairdryer idea is pretty good too. She's a pretty practical girl so she'll like things along that line. I've got her lots of books before so thats I was kinda trying to steer clear of getting her one this time.

I think midget slaves are a little outta my price range, but I'll price them out anyways /images/graemlins/tongue.gif
