The SB is TAA (VP$IP 17 PFR 11 AF 3.85). I've played with him before and he would 3 bet vs a SR from the SB with any pair as well as hands like AK, AQ, JTs, etc.

check call the flop, then check/fold the turn unimproved.

The flop raise isn't horrible. That said, I would have usually just called.

Gotta fold the turn though.

I actually misread my hand and thought I made a straight with an 8 or a J.

My raise on the flop was a free card attempt.

I called the turn because I thought I had at least 8 outs.

I bet the river because I thought I made my straight :-(.

I posted to see how I should have played it if I wasn't on shrooms. I did have an overcard and a gutshot straight draw, so can I safely call that 7 outs?

Preflop is good.

Flop: I wouldn't fold, but I don't feel comfortable raising here either. (I might do so, though if one card was a diamond). Overall, I prefer call.


Fold the turn.
