View Full Version : possible ignorant fan solutions

fan interference pisses me off more than most incidents, the blatant disrespect for other people baffles me. for instance, gary sheffield/jermaine o'neal etc. do not go to the fans place of work, walk in and start assaulting them so why is it that last night that d*i*c*k head's penalty for being a jacka*s*s was only to get removed from the game which turned out to be missing one inning?

anyway, IMO i believe that any fan that steps on to a court or field is free game...if you are that dumb enough to talk s*h*i*t or try to fight a physically superior athlete then they should get what they deserve which is getting popped.

the arguement is that they are drunk blah blah blah. these fans are ruining it for everyone, sooner or later we wont be able to sit front row and right on top of the action because commissioners are going to start moving the first row back 10 feet from the field and this is crap for the true fans that sit and enjoy the game and dont cause trouble.

i have two solutions:

1) drink card- upon ticket purchase you get a punch card (could be electronic with the prices of hot dogs lately)and everytime said person goes and gets a beer their card gets marked and each person is allowed an "X" amount of drinks. now i am not the person to know how many that is, but it would slow down the antics in the game...though it would not completely eliminate the problem since you could always get sloshed before the game and that is why solution #2 should be manditory.

2) during fan interference the player needs to go back to his position and concentrate on his job at hand but a security guard will be sent over to get the fan's name, work address and hours he/she works. this information will be given to the athlete and at anytime the player wishes he can go visit the fan at HIS job and assault and ridicule him/her. then the next time johnny the accountant thinks about slappin' around a player when he gets near him he will think about sheffield bursting into his office while he is pushing papers to beat the f*u*c*k out of him.

just some idle thoughts i had while working out this morning, post comments and even BETTER ideas please.

Obviously these knuckleheads aren't incredibly concerned with the sport itself, they are just there to cause trouble. Therefore they should ban these clowns for life. Make it so that it's criminal trespassing if they are ever caught sneaking back into the arena. Share the information with other ball parks, like casinos do regarding cheaters. Continue to reinforce these rules and soon enough people won't dare doing stupid stuff.

blame the dumbass fans not me, because solution #1 is already circulating and could be used in a few years.

In a game a couple days ago there was a foul ball that was barely into the stands in right field that Ichiro could have caught but a fan interfered (the ball was foul and in the stands so he wasn't kicked out). People started chanting "Bartman, Bartman" and Ichiro stared him down for at least 10 seconds.

I'm hoping they're smart enough to realize what this would do to attendance.

I'm betting this is wrong, especially short term and that's all they really care about.

my thoughts on this is if the VISITING team is trying to catch a ball that is IN the stands and not in play then the fans CAN interfere, i mean nothing wrong with a little home field advantage. but the bartman situation was just stupid, i mean that was HIS HOME TEAM!!!! i mean use your head!
