I'm hoping to try out Hollywood in Aurora or Trump/Harrah's in NW Indiana on Saturday night, but I'm wondering if the wait to get a seat is going to be too long to make it a worthwhile trip. Can anyone advise as to how long of a wait I could expect if I arrived at one of these poker rooms between 7-8 PM on Saturday night? I appreciate your time.

depends on the level. probably 2-3 horus for lower limits, around an hour to 1 1/2 for 10/20 and up.

You can call ahead an hour in advance at Harrah's to try to get a gauge of how the tables are going, and if it seems reasonable put your name on the list. It'll save you an hour of real waiting time, so if you are playing lower limits it'll make it bearable, and higher limits you'd be fine.

How is the pokerroom in aurora supposed to be?

Unless it changed I'm pretty sure there is no weekend poker in Illinois. They only have a limited number of gaming seats so they only spread poker on weekdays and close it down on weekends in favor of higher profit areas.

It may have changed though? Your best bet is the Indiana places.

Jesus, it just gets worse and worse....

A time charge for 2-4 NLH are yu friggun kidding me?

Why does Chicago have to suck so bad for poker? Isnt there some underground places??

Is it true there is no weekend poker?

I've played on Saturday's in Aurora so unless the no poker on weekends change came within the past month or so, I don't think it is true. The room there is small so you will wait a while. If I'm going there during a peak time I'll call ahead and get on the list to cut down the waiting time while there.

i used to play cs with you haha

the hollywoods lowest limit is 5/10 and it was a great game a couple months ago. a few people seeing the flop about 75% of the time. always a showdown, no bluffing in this game.

No, I'm sure you are right. Way back when though they didn't spread it on weekends. Then again I gave up on Chicago area poker 5 years ago so I'm outta the loop.

I guess we have no concensus on whether or not Hollywood has poker on the weekends - when I was last there (around 2 months ago) they said that they take the tables out and replace them with BJ/etc tables.

As far as wait times go, it depends on when you get there. Harrah's and Trump allow you to put yourself on the list by callling ahead, Hollywood does not. Also, if Harrah's is super-crowded, Trump is five minutes away. And vice versa.
