My thinking was that if I pushed, I'd most probably get at least one of the MPs, if not both in with me. I figured I was probably up against at least one pp somewhere and at least some of my outs were in the other hands.

CO could have any number of hands though. Plus the raise / re-raise will make MP's pitch some pocket pairs. Even if you do end up in a flip situation the extra chips make it more than worth it.
