A smaller stack, I figure, might well be trying a steal before his folding equity disappears. Here's what I did. Dumb?

I fold preflop. I'd much rather be the aggressor from the start.

I prefer to be the aggressor too, but fighting for the blinds seems to make sense to me here.

This steal would increase villain's stack by a third if it worked, moving him much higher up in standings and giving him twice the stack of some of the others, and so he would be correct to raise with most anything.

I was thinking that therefore A-x was very likely a reasonable hand. I had folding equity, and his stack would be crippled if he didn't call. If he did call, I had to worry about being beaten of course. But considering he would be compelled in his position to raise with almost anything, I thought A-x had some good value in this situation.
