if you've seen the movie boiler room (http://imdb.com/title/tt0181984/), then maybe you can help solve this mystery that has perplexed me for years...

at one point, ben affleck tells the trainees that they have to pay $300 for the series 7 study books. as he's about to leave the room, giovanni ribisi stands up and gets $300 cash out of his pocket, then gives it to affleck. affleck looks at it and says "what are you, last night's erection?" ribisi just kind of shrugs and mumbles "yeah well you know" or something.

wtf does "what are you, last night's erection?" mean????

I think he's joking that the guy is a jigolo by night? That's what I got out of it when I saw the movie.

yeah, the phrase is in that song, but i think the context helps a little:

"While Jim gives another motivational speech to the recruits, he tells them that they have to "act as if" (and then says as an example, "Act as if you have a nine inch c*ck"). When Seth is the first to pay him some dues, Jim then asks, "Are you last night's erection?"

Seth, in acting eager and ready to rise to the challenge, go for it, etc, could be seen as acting like last nights erection...
