read on villian is only through 7 hands. He is 17/17/0. Pretty meaningless I know but thats all I got.

i think this is fine. sometimes i'll raise the flop here, but i actually dont like that line often because 88 will 3-bet here and you are in a tough spot.

for that reason i frequently feel that calling the flop and raising the turn is a good play. it charges the most against a flush draw, gives you the least chance of getting outplayed (doubtful youll get 3-bet on the turn by a worse hand), and will usually give you a free showdown.
