Did I misplay this river? I figured the chance of a flush was very high maybe I should have bet less then folded? Should i have pushed the turn or bet more? Thanks for looking.

Raise pre-flop, raise more on the flop and the push the turn.

Next time use a converter, it makes for a prettier hand /images/graemlins/smile.gif

with 1 limper, i'd raise that preflop

don't re-minraise on the flop...make it $6

Thanks for the advice. Assuming I did make those mistakes on earlier streets would you play the river differently?

i would raise preflop too but $6?? that is 24X the BB and nobody is calling that unless they have you beat, i would raise to $1 and $2 being the max.

When someone plays back at you on a flop like that you need to reraise hard. There are a lot of cards you don't want to see.

After villain min-raises your $0.75 bet to $1.50, I don't think $6 is excessive at all.

yeah i guess you're right $6 is a little less than twice the pot which is a very bad price for them to call.

Yes, plus, it makes the pot big enough to make pushing the turn against villain only a small overbet, which I think is more important.

Your slight overbet will look like you're trying to push him out. If he folds, fine, you have a nice pot, and if he calls you have serious equity in this pot. I'm raising more on the flop for future streets, not even so much to give them a bad price to draw.

Sometimes it is very important to look at the pot relative to stack sizes and future betting rounds, not only the current situation. Mason has a very good point, as making a smaller raise here leaves hero with too much in his stacks (or too little in the pot) to make a push seem reasonable (read: not a huge overbet). This is one of the aspects of pot control that should be thought about more carefully when making your bets/raises.

Well there are about seven people online right now and only two posting responses to hands. It just happens that it is us two and that you are making some very good posts that I agree with.

That, and the smell of your musk drives me wild.
