View Full Version : Fun with a gal in a bar

I was at a rock club (everett). Major slutbar that isn't there anymore. Most of these are gone around here now. It sucks.

Anyways, there's a good size house. Im standing in the back by the mixing board watching people go by. Prime pathway from the tables to the bar. A blue collar looking guy comes in. Looks like he might've been working late. He strolls up next to me and just kind of takes in the scene.

This little rocked out blondie comes walking by and he asks her to dance. She looks him up and down, gives him that look like she's rolling her eyes and says, "uhh, no" in that 'as if!?!' kind of air.

He's a little pissed at this but says nothing as she goes up to the bar. (great bar set up, btw) I look at him, he sees me and shakes his head. Looking back at her, kinda sneering and saying the WTF!?!.

"Whatta bitch, huh?" I ask.

"yeah! Jesus! Can you believe that."

I had an idea. I got it from a game my brother taught me that we used to play at dance clubs, but it would work great here for my purposes.

I ask him, "I have an idea, you got 5 bucks on ya? You'll like it."

He looks at me like I'm nuts.

"Seriously. I won't even move. I'll be right here. Trust me, you'll like this." I say with a big smile. He eyes me curiously.

"You can stop me if I try and leave." I tell him.

He, even more curiously pulls out a Lincoln and hands it to me.

I see the gal finishing up at the bar.

A little chuckle and a smile, I say, "Watch this."

His face is full of anticipation.

She comes by and I politely ask her if she'd like to dance. She gets this big wide eyed grin but says apologetically that, "no, she's over with some friends" blah blah but seems a little tickled that I asked her.

I smile and say the 'yeah, no problem' line. Before she turns she notices me giving the guy next to me $5. He takes it watching her reaction.

"What's that!?!" She asks loudly.

"Oh, just a bet." I say as I stare right at her smiling.

Her demeanor changes instantly. She's fuming. Looks at the guy, then me then says disgustingly, "You guys are assholes!" Turns, and stamps away.

I barely get the question out to the guy asking how he liked that when he, with a huge grin, says loudly, "That was great!!!"

I hit him on the shoulder and say have a nice night as I head to the bar.

I don't get it, maybe I'm dense.

She is insulted that you bet the guy she won't dance with you? Why would she be insulted?

I dont get it either.

What was the bet?

Why would it make her mad?

bernie : i bet you $5 she'll dance with me
otherguy : you're on.
bernie : aww shucks, i was wrong, here's $5.
girl : you dicks!

thatpfunk

got that. Why would a girl be insulted over that? Girls I know would laugh at them.

This would make her happy that she declined. This joke doesn't make sense.

Dunno, I can see why she might be offended. Hell, maybe she was the girl out of Daliman's thread.

The correct response here is, "Don't be so picky. I wasn't."

The girl doesn't know what the bet is- she doesn't think it out, she just *knows* that its bad when guys are betting on weather or not they should dance with her. Chicks are emotional, not rational.

I was kind of hoping at the end that this was going to be the story where you take her back to your place and drug her. when she wakes up later, she's in a tub of ice and there's a note posted next to the bathtub alongside a phone..

she feels a pain in her side.

I have read this thread three times thinking I was missing something, and I still don't understand why she would get upset. Other than realizing she just wasted the last 30 seconds talking to a retard.

What is so difficult to understand here?

Even if the girl did not want to dance with him she was still flattered that he asked her. => emotions up! => vulnerability up! The moment she realizes that there was no reason for being flattered => hurt feelings! => redemption for the original proposer!

Exactly. Its not that complicated. The bet could have been "I guarantee you this goddess of a woman won't talk to me, she's so amazing" which would be a compliment, but the girls still going to see herself being the object of a cheap bet.

The "original proposer" still got blow off. Now you just got blown off even though "she was flattered". And you just said, "I have such low confidence in myself that I am betting I am as big a loser as you, wooeee look at me I can get turned down also". How in the [censored] is that clowning the girl. Now, the girl supposedly got upset, so I have to question her mental capacity, but she was with a group. You have just blown your chance with other women to protect "blue collar" dude. He and his brother used to run this. Is this Jace and his sign [censored] brother?

Yep.

The amount bet on her also could piss her off. She might think she was worth more than just a $5 bet.

Most girls that would 'laugh it off' wouldn't have treated the initial guy that way.

This isn't the 'game' my brother and me ran. It had elements of it.

Our game went like this...

You go into a hot club. You set a denomination whether it's $5 or $10 or whatever. Say it's his turn, I pick out a girl for him to go and try and dance with. If she says yes, he owes me money, if she says no, I owe him money.

It's just a fun side game.

[/ QUOTE ]

Have you ever been to a rock club? Especially from around 1991-'97? Though this club was more an hard rock '80s type of club. Guys who dress, for lack of a better word, normal, aren't quite looked at the same. Gals in this type of club, generally are not looking for that type of guy. Musicians/band members are front and center.

The guy was normal to looking to me, but not in that environment. This was back when I was constantly mistaken for being in the band or looked like I just got off tour.

Any chick who has that high an opinion of herself and flaunts it that way sets herself up easily. And the more simple it is to knock her down.

Sure you could. That's part of the fun.

You'd be suprised at how little fat ugly chicks like to dance. The fatter they are, the less they'll like to exert any energy.

haha. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

There was a big turnaround up here about 7 years ago. Lots of the old slut/dive bars have turned into mini casinos or just went under. Usually there was one real good one every 5 or 10 miles. Most of these types of bars were just outside of seattle in the 'burbs. Everett is always a great party place. I've always liked it up there. I haven't been there in awhile. That place was always packed. Usually there was a live cover band playing your typical dancible rock tunes.

It's just not the same nowadays. In some ways, that's a good thing, though.

It shows how superficial she was.

Even if you're not attracted to someone, you don't treat them like a piece of crap just because they thought enough of you to ask you to dance. It wasn't like he was asking her for a BJ. He didn't deserve to have that done to him in front of other people.
