- I called out of insinct; I believe it was because the only hand I reasonably put villain on at this point was a runner runner flush.
- I think I like a blocking bet on the river better.

I'd limp this in a lower buy-in. I probably raise PF here though. Flop and turn are standard. And I probably play river the same though a blocking bet seems reasonable as well. Why do you put him on runner runner flush?

If I was going to play this hand post flop here. I think I'd play it similarly except fold to the river allin. The bet is just too much what I would bet with a winning hand there...if he bets less than 300 I'm liable to call though...or a lot more than 300.

I really don't mind checking the flop and calling someone's bet here either if I want to play it.

Hmmm, I don't like checking the flop at all as you suggest, there are 5 players to the flop and you likely have the best hand, gotta find out where you stand.

It would help if I knew that villian but I actually prefer your line to the blocking bet, because the pot is a little too big on the river to block effectivly imo. I think the villians most likely holding is 87 or 57, hopefully not diamonds.

The thing that villian (without knowing who it is) most likely makes the raise on the turn with a set, which is why I like checking the river, a one pair hand checks behind and a made hand bets the pot, as does a bluff. If you try to block you arent quite deep enough to bet enough to ensure villian only comes over the top with the goods, and it will hurt you too much to fold.

Plus a lot of the time the made hand will let you off by underbetting the river (probably the same size as your block) for value.
