This is the time to create a sidepot, right? In case the smallblind has me beat, to make it worthwhile, I do what? (I think pushing is too much, since I don't want to push out everyone in case I'm beat by small blind, correct)

Thoughts Bet amount?

I typically raise the turn there. I want to shut out the flush draw. although that 6 isn't the best card for you as 45 just completed the straight.

I raise to $13

Raise to 10-13. This will get called by a "better" ace, but will also price out the flush draw, if that is his holding.

I did raise the turn... $9.

The LP player called, which slightly worried me that he would call a bet and a reraise.

The river brought another 3. I went all in. Got called.

The SB DID have the straight. But I took down a nice $46 pot.

The LP player had... A10. Called off his stack with a 10 kicker.
