View Full Version : Adjusting Standard PFR due to position and Limpers

Just curious if you guys like my 6xbb pfr here. I basically adjusted it upwards a bit because of my position and because there were a few limpers in there. Normally I would raise 4xbb: $1 in this case.

Is this pretty conventional?

Looks good. Some would say even more.
(4xbb +1bb per limper an often cited number)

My normal preflop raise has been 3xBB+1BB per limper. I've tried going to 4xBB+1x but didn't like it. Is there any advantages (disadvantages?) to raising 4xBB?

Just always raise the size of the pot.

That's 4xBB + 1BB/limper.
(You're assuming the SB is in for 1 BB).

You can raise more depending on how much action you want. But don't give away info by only raising more with aces or kings for example.

By 3x BB, do you mean you make it 4x BB to go, or 3x BB to go? The latter is too small I think. Whatever works though.

Sometimes (usually weekends) you can make it 10X the BB or more, just because the opposition is so damn "optimistic" about hitting the flop.

Also I wouldn't be getting getting overly aggressive with AQ preflop full ring. If the flop comes Kxx are you going to pot it?

Depends.

But I see what you mean.
