I'm not scared of any draws here. What can you do here? I also tried checking out of position and only betting the turn - another fold. If you are in position do you bet if checked to on the flop?

Absolutely bet. You'd be surprised what these donks will call with. Also, it's hands like these that you need to bet to protect the times when you have T9s on this board and need to bet.

Can you expand on that a little?
Why do you "need" to bet 10,9s on a board that gives you a backdoor flush draw, a gutshot str8 draw and no overcards?

Not disagreeing - just don't see your point.

I believe his point is:
If you raised UTG with T9s, or something else that whiffed, you'd still always bet this flop here, getting 5.5-1. If you always check big hands in this spot, your opponents will eventually know that you have a big hand when you check and have nothing, or less something, when you bet. very bad for you. With some pot equity, it's even clearer

But would you raise UTG with 10,9s against typical $1/2 Party players? By typical I mean generally loose
passive - passive.

It's just bet to bet a flop bet. The check is abnormal and you want to steal pots when you've raised to steal with little and miss so betting with your strong hands is a good idea.

Often on Ace flops if they dont call there isn't too much they'll catch either. These players will often not believe you and raising suspicions isn't a good idea. If they believe you too often you're just running unlucky or start stealing a bit more.

This is correct. Think of the range of hands you'll be holding here and the range of reactions you want to get. Checking is no good without a solid read.
