View Full Version : Is K9o a push with smallish stack UTG 4-handed?

I think i tend to play too tight shorthanded so I'm never sure if hands like this 4-handed are "obvious" pushes given there isn't crazy play.

While you are the shortest stack, you still have over 10BB. I would wait to find a better spot.

Ditto here.

Pushing isn't horrible, but I think you are deep enough that you can wait for a better spot. If you had like 2-4BBs it'd be an easier push.

I think you should begin looking at your bubble strategy more in relationship to some sort of ratio. For example, your stack relative to the big blind. If you've got plenty of chips (for sure over 10xBB), then there's time to be a little patient yet. If you're low stacked (for sure 5xBB or less), you're push/fold mode. Anywhere in between has a few more discretions, IMO.

You're essentially equal with the other low stack. I'd pay particular attention to how he's playing. Particularly because he's on your left. If he's very tight, you most likely can abuse him for survival, and chip equity gain.
