PokerRoom hands do not convert well, sorry for the incorrect color.

I debated a raise on the flop, but thought I might keep CO in the hand. I figured the lead bettor to have a 6, or perhaps the fourth J. Given that the J was unlikely, I did not feel the need to protect my hand. When the fourth J fell, my best hope that the UTG+2 was betting his full house.

At this point, I am uncertain whether I should have raised the turn. The reality is that I was going to get 1 more bet in the pot either way on the turn. My intent was to ensure that regardless of the CO on the river, I would get at least a call and hopefully a re-raise from the UTG+2.

I have only been through SSH one time, but between the advise here and the book I know to never slowplay a hand. This is the first time I have done so in weeks and would like to hear any thoughts on my play.

Thanks.

When did you slowplay? Nice hand.

Just to soften what harsh words others might say, it's usually better to post more challenging borderline hands than when you flop trips and turn the nuts. You don't make money in poker by squeezing every last bet out of hands like these. You make money in marginal hands.

Excellent point, thank you.

Admittedly a little public celebration, this comes in the middle of a rebound from 75BB downturn over the weekend.

i think the term you are looking for is smoothcall.

What the hell was CO doing hanging around.

This is why fast-playing big hands is almost uniformly better than slowplaying. Congrats on picking up a big pot with a big hand.

nicely played..calling yields as much as raising if CO calls
withthis board a raise scares everyone
