I think this new update has a kink or two - i had that same problem when i downloaded as well - go into your task manager (ctrl+alt+del) and then tab over and select PartyPoker.exe and push "end process" - this will allow you to re-open Party.

That was a problem I'd noticed-> Open Party, Close Party, Party won't open.
