Ok so say hypothetically someone decides to play online poker for a living and actually makes enough to live, let's say $50K a year. Ok my quesiton is, how and why does he pay taxes on this? I mean, these online gambling sites are in a gray legal area and don't report your "income" to the government. How in the world doest eh government track it or know you're getting that income? There's no paper trail at all... I guess it just kinda appears in your bank account and they might notice you don't pay taxes and wonder where it comes from, but still... enlighten me.
