Is there a respectable online betting service that is taking bets on which of the cardinals will become the next pope?

I'd like to see the following:

o/u on new pope's age (I'd put this at 75)

o/u on number of votes required to elect (I'd put this at 12)

Pinnacle has a prop you can bet on whether the next pope will be at least 70 years old.

I'm not catholic. If Jesus of Nazareth came back, would he be declared pope?

I am also not Catholic but I think that when Jesus returns the world is over and everyone on the forum goes to hell.

St. Peter was the first pope; Jesus never the led the church which is an earthly creation, so: no.

As for the paddpower odds, they line on Ratzinger is ridiculous. I don't know why people consider him popeable. He has stated quite clearly he is uninterested and would turn it down if voted in...

He's old enough to not stick around forever, but not so old that he's already an invalid.

Those are definitely positives for Ratzinger but he is a major polarizing figure in terms of the liberal v. conservative divide, is from western Europe and has outwardly expressed a lack of interest in becoming the pope.

Check this (http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/220219_popebet15.html) article out. It looks like us catholics that place a bet are risking excommunication under old canon law /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Technically, if we are Catholic, we are now excommunicated gamblers per a 16th century Papal Bull banning all gambling on the identity of the new pope. I discovered this after I'd already bet. Should I go to confession!?!? /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Seriously! I'm wondering what the penance would be (do they even given penance anymore? I haven't been to confession forever)? No gambling for a month and 100 hail marys? I love being Catholic because we can still gamble. After all, the 12 apostles threw dice to select the replacement apostle for Judas after he hung himself.
