This was only a $20 buy in tourney with 460 entrants, but you have to start somewhere!
The best part about this tourney was that I had absolutely dead cards for the first 2.5 hours. I grabbed a pot periodically, but I thought I was just delaying the inevitable. When the blinds hit 400/800 we were down to 55 people (top 50 paid) and my stack was at T991 so hope was dim of surviving to the money.
When the dreaded BB came around, I was fortunate enough to get a pair and triple up!

Within 5 hands I'd doubled up twice more and suddenly I was back to an average stack.
Once we got past the bubble, people started going all-in left and right and busting out like crazy. I managed to dodge all the bullets and make it to the final table with my modest stack.
Once there, I watched the biggest stack at the table go from 100K to bust in 3 hands. Two more quickly followed as I nursed my ministack in hopes of further survival.
It was not to be, however, as my 99 all-in was called by KQ and he spiked both a K and a Q to knock me out in 7th.
