I'm thinking about getting this so I can watch A's games out here in Urbana and back home in Seattle. Have any of you tried it, and would you recommend it? How is the video quality? Are there a lot of nationally blacked out games? Is there a better alternative for someone without a TV?

Thanks in advance.

Any idea if it's regular season only? I'd assume yes...

You get blacked out of espn and local games. For example, in south-central Louisiana I'm blacked out of HOU games even though they aren't played all the time here.

Resolution is 320x240 and you definitely need high-speed to get good quality. It can be very choppy and sometime unwatchable. However, when it's watchable, which is most of the time, it's the greatest [censored] thing ever.

It's very cool. If you do not want to be blacked out ask a foreigner you know if you could use his credit card for sign up if his billing addy is not in the U.S. => no black outs!

I signed up with a German CC and have no blackouts whatsoever.

NBA.tv is probably the better sport for this because the ball is bigger and it is easier to pick up the action even if the vid is a bit choppy. It is still watchable for baseball qualitywise.

i just got this for a 1 month free trial. i signed up for a 4 issue free trial of sports illustrated and got a 1 month free trial. as long as i remember to cancel that's 4 free issues of SI, and 1 free month of mlb.tv

i've been watching games all day. it's great.
