View Full Version : Really sketchy player, gamboholic_

My bad if someone already posted about this, I looked around and didn't see it.

Yeah so my friend told me about this player yesterday. He played against her in an sng. Now before everyone goes nuts on me for conspiracy theories, hear me out. This player plays step 5 and 6 WSOP $2000 buy ins all the time, like 3 or 4 often at once. I was really skeptical about it being a bot, after all it has to be incredibly hard. But basically, she never talks, and only goes all in or folds every time. Often takes until almost her timer runs out. I saw her *win* this particular sng with the following hands, basically one after another (where she obviously has the worst hand). All in preflop either call or puts herself all in:

QT vs KQ
99 vs KK

83s vs AK
A6s vs KK
K6 vs K7

She basically put out 3 people in a row and won with those last hands in maybe like 7 hands. I suppose its *possible* to win in those situations 3 times in a row, but what's more important was that she voluntarily put herself all in each time. She's *dominated* in bascially all those situations. And no, they weren't steals or "it's only an extra blind" situations.

The whole time the entire table was debating about whether or not she's a bot.
All I'm saying is watch out. I dunno what the deal is, and how she's still playing without someone reporting her.

Edit: Forgot to mention, she's on party. If you don't believe me, watch an sng yourself...

If those hands happened ITM ure an idiot.

Only the winner gets a WSOP seat. The next two get step 6 entries.

This is the WSOP step 6 NL 2000+150

I played this sng, I only misplayed(IMO) the first hand.

KQ vs AT vs JJ(won)called an all-in( Im the leakiest player ever)
J6 vs AK( lost)steal attempt
73 vs AK(lost)pot odds
K6 vs AQ(won) steal attempt
T6 vs K4( won) steal attempt(ITM)
QT vs A9(won)heads-up, I pushed he called.

why would a bot want a WSOP entry?

think about this for like half a second then you will figure it out /images/graemlins/wink.gif oh, and btw, gamboholic isnt a bot. holla

Dave D

If you look right now, people are talking about her right now. She plays like 20 hours a day, 3 or 4 tables at once sometimes.

The bot doesnt want the entry, the person who made it does. Are you retarded?

Your play wasnt like hers. Hers were all ins, against much more dominating hands...

"She plays like 20 hours a day"

Highly doubt that.

" or 4 tables at once sometimes."

So what. I play 6. Plenty of people play 8. Raptor is trying (succeeding??) 12.

Gamboholic isn't a bot and your conspiracy theory sucks.

mmmm....well Jimmy isnt very good at poker, Jimmy created a bot to win at poker, Jimmys bot is really good, Jimmy can win 10K but instead Jimmy prefers to play a poker tourney, Jimmy arrives at vegas, Jimmy sits down at the table, Jimmy realizes hes not good at poker, doh!.

My friend has been watching her, we dont know *for sure*, but she's basically always on.

This isn't limit, playing 4 tables at once, this is a 2000 buy in. It's possible, and only a minor reason for what I think, but its jsut more (though weaker) evidence.

She wins multiple entries to get the cash. It's probably the standard 11k or whatever. There's not many sngs that you can win 11k... In fact, there's none..

1) This is a reasonable strategy, and if you're waiting for premium hands in the early rounds, it might seem like it's your only move to someone who hasn't watched you play a full game at least 20 times.

2) If s/he's playing multiple tables, chatting becomes more of a pain than a pleasure. Hell, I only play 4 at a time but I find it hard to keep a conversation going, even when I run into another 2+2er with whom I'd love to converse. I'm always scrolling up to stay current so I try to converse rarely. It is a great way to make the grind easier, but if I were on any more than 4 tables I wouldn't bother.

Read the post. They aren't premium hands.

I think I'd be tempted to talk if everyone at the table was calling me a bot and talking about how I should be reported to party. Have you ever dealt with the indians? I'd do whatever it takes to avoid them even if I was innocent just to avoid them...

So what? It means s/he has an enormous bankroll. I've noticed folks multi-tabling the STEP 5 games too... open up 4 of those tables and wow yourself when you see many of those names on 4 at once. And I guarantee you they didn't start at STEP 1.

Like I said, gamboholic isn't a bot and, if you are talking about situations that I think you're talking about, you have a lot to learn about winner take all SNG's.

Read my post; I mentioned premium hands in the EARLY rounds. I bet you my meager liquidated assets that she's not pushing K6o in Level 1.

If you're a high roller you could give two shits about table talk. The sites cater to you and will order you a pizza and a handjob if you ask.

Gamboholic is an OK player at best, and if he IS a bot, he's pretty badly programmed, as he calls allins pretty badly late. I'd say he's an 8% ROI in the 200's at the absolute maximum.

Gambo is the most "bot-like playing" SNG player I've ever played against. The most "formulaic." Not that I think she necessarily is, but I would not be surprised at all if she were a bot.

Sorry to add to the conspiracy hype. FWIW, I don't mind her sitting at my table. Pretty predictable.

imagine her rakeback per month...holla

oh, being a bot doesnt mean you always run good...

yea gambo prolly makes 100k a year on rakeback, with all those damn step 5s.. lol. holla

well yes, amongst other things gambaholic calls too loosely late in the game.

to go along with that, gambaholic and i have chatted, even if all i can remember him chatting right now is things on the lines of "?" "oh, yeah" "lol" that's basically all i type in the chat most of the time too. so, to echo things already said in this thread, OPs conspiracy theory sucks. gambaholic is not playing 20 hours a day (something tells me you and your friend have never observed gambaholic playing for 20 hours in one day, just call it a hunch).

oh, let's see, what else, oh, that's right, i've seen gambaholic make bets that are smaller than all in. this isn't to say that i don't think that gambaholic goes all in too much early, but as i noted in another thread, i haven't seen enough of those early all ins called to make any certain judgements.

there's lots of other flaws with OPs argument, most of them are clearly centered on the fact that -> OP has no idea how to play sngs.

For the third time, no, not a bot. Trust me, I have enough datamined hands to know /images/graemlins/wink.gif

He's not that good or anything and isn't a winner by any means even at the Step 5's, but since he just push/folds a ton of hands he can get away with a lot sometimes.

He may actually even be a winner in the WSOP sats as opposed to the Steps because the steeper payout works in his favor a lot more.

Speculation /images/graemlins/wink.gif.

But on one end of the spectrum I've heard of one poker site ordering pizzas and on the other end of the spectrum I've heard of casino managers making things happen that are unmentionable in casual conversation... casual conversation among porn stars. /images/graemlins/blush.gif

She won 80k in the PP $600 buy in multi for 3rd, and 20k for 3-5th a week or two ago...she's a decent player...

I dont think she's a bot, just someone who barely chats, mostly never....but I got her to say "FU" to me in chat once, LOL...

Only you could get under a bots skin, you gotta show me how to do that one day.
