I've never played PLO before

I just played in a 10+1 pot limit omaha/8 sng at Pokerroom and came in second. I've never played this game before. Obviously I got lucky since I really have no idea what I'm doing in this game, but the players I witnessed seemed truely terrible. It almost seemed as if many of the players didn't even know how hi/lo worked. 5 players were eliminated by level 3.

I know my observations don't really mean much since I have a sample size of 1 game. But has anyone else played in these? Is it worth my time to learn to get good at this game?

the strategy is essentially the same no matter what the game is, someone who is aware of good SNG play will crush those who are not aware but are slightly better PLO or PLO/8 players.
