I folded two hands here due to the bubble. I'd been pretty aggressive otherwise, but I felt that the SS was so close to busting that it was worth it to wait.

Thoughts?

The first fold I have no real problem with.

The second one, however, I think is pretty bad. If I'm following, I believe the short-stack was all in in the BB. This is a great situation for you; even if you bust on this hand, the only way you don't cash is if the short-stack wins the main pot and you lose a side pot. Given that it also seems from the change in stack sizes that the limping big stack has been using his position to steal, I think you need to move with AJ here.

The problem with this situation is that before you know it you sit there with 1000 chips and the small stack manages to double up. What do you do if cards turn bad when the blinds of 250/500 hit you?

I would have pushed both. Bigstack limping with 4 left almost always folds to an all-in. And if he doesn't you will have the best hand more than not.

I smooth call the second one and check it down, I really don't like folding. The button is clearly interested in checking it down or he would have raised. Plus you very likely have the best hand.

First one seems like a good fold. If I had pokerstove with me, I would run some #'s on it though.

Second one seems bad to me.

I like this line better, with the caveat that I don't think I'm folding regardless of what ensues.

That is a mistake.. given the PF action I would fold to any bet as it is almost surely not a bluff.

That's gotta depend on the flop. A bet will mean a made hand and you are most likely ITM. Considering how shortstacked you will be if you fold you should call with any reasonable draw, like 2 overcards. IMHO.

I dont think big stack folds for 600 more with a chance to bust them both.

I like the first fold. Low pocket pairs can be trouble, and you are first to act. I'd probably push it if folded to me from SB, maybe if I was on the button, but not from there, with hanger onner guy still there.

I would not make the second fold unless you know that big stack is inclined to slow play. My guess is that he thinks his hand is good enough to take out the small stack, and that you won't want to play with him for $200 more. It even gives the impression that he's willing to let it go to your all in. Again, that may be just what he wants you to think, but unless he's trapped before, I'd say fire away. I think you'll be ahead even if he does call plenty of times with AJ here.
