1. Diego Sanchez is going to own
2. Bonnar and Griffin might be close

How the hell does this guy compete here, and have no defined muscles on his chest? Thats just funny.

By the way, what happened to UFC demand, is it way down? They cant even get a freaking PPV for this stuff?

This is the finale of the reality show, with a Ken Shamrock fight thrown in. The PPV is next week.

Diego is impressive.

I'm going with Griffin in the heavyweight fight.

From watching the show the past couple days, i think Diego is a good fighter and all, but I find his attitude to be really annoying. His fuking laundry list of thankyous including his massage therapist and accupuncturist seald the deal.

I can't read any of this thread because I am on the WC but I think Diego is clearly the best fighter. In the LHW bought I expect Griffin's previous cut to be a factor.

In the main event I don't see the UFC doing anything other than serving up a patsy to Shamrock whom they still think can gain them an audience.

holy crap, i want to see another round. If i was danna white, i'll give both guys contracts. They went toe to toe for the entire 3 rounds and brought a standing O several times from the audience.

UNREAL. Fight of a lifetime. I think Bonnar won, decision coming up.

2 contracts for sure. I wouldn't score anything but a draw though.

Love that spinning wheel kick.

I have watched tons of UFC , maybe 25 or so out of the 52.

I have never seen a match so incorrectly decided. Bonnar clearly did more damage.

Skipbidder
04-09-2005, 10:49 PM
Yes. It was due to his acupuncturist and Jesus. And about 700 other people. If it was an awards show, they would started the music to play him off.

woohooo, bonnar got a contract!!!
that's great! I've liked stephan since day 1. He didn't duck
anybody and called out one of the toughest guys when it was his turn to fight.

This is what surprised me. I figured 29-28 on all three cards, but split decision (either way). I would have scored it for Bonnar, but I like him more.

Very Classy. Shocked by the decision. I think Bonnar was too.

I can't wait for Bonnar - Griffin II.

That guy from Fear Factor has done an A+ job announcing these fights. I always thought he was a tool, but he does a good job with these.

Sweet freaking fight!!!!!

i've never seen UFC before - this is awesome...i thought bonner got robbed but glad he got the contract too - besides the overuse of the word 'rocked' in the commentary, i do have a question as a new UFC viewer:

why does michael buffer's brother talk like he has a cock in his mouth?

Lazymeatball

i noticed that buffer thing too. I think it's funny that the buffers are in the ring announcer business.

Damn. Shamrock out on the slip of a foot. He never should have accepted the fight. Clearly the better fighter even at 41, but anything can happen in the ring.

Ken Shamrock "The world's most dangerous man"

Record 28-9-2

Apparently there are at least nine men who are more dangerous.

Where are the heavyweights? Is the lightheavyweight title the main title in UFC like the Heavyweight title is in boxing? I liked it better when there was no weight classes and Royce Gracie (150 pds) was decimating 300+ pounders. Why the hell not have no weight limits?

I thought tonight's free live tv coverage is fantastic. It will surely bring in some new fans. A very classy move by UFC to give bonnar a contract as well.

I've watched it all began in UFC 1 and at that time we didn't even know if it will survive as there were much uncertainty if goverment regulations would take it off the air. Seeing tonight live on cable tv is just awesome and the card didn't dissapoint. I really wanted Kenny to win though (although I wouldn't put any money on him). A fantastic show noneless with a great production. Nice classy move by UFC too.

Great fights tonight - i have been following UFC since the beginning w/ Royce Gracie submitting guys twice his size in less than a minute and the sport has evolved so much in 10 years.

Kenny Florian shouldn't have been in that fight, the show was a little flawed in that aspect where he got lucky against Leben w/ the cut and made it into the Finals with one fight. But great following the show and can't wait for next weekends UFC!

Now, all we need is a reality show combining MMA and Poker...

[censored] ya it was. I would love to see an additional round but I doubt it would actually settle anything.

I think the 1st round was a draw, the 2nd went to Bonner and the 3rd a draw which would give it to Bonner.

agree. bonnar got slightly screwed. He was too gassed in the third round though.

Aren't they on the same sort of scoring system as is frequently used in boxing (10 point must)? You must give one competitor 10 points. The other gets 9 (rarely an 8 and almost never a lower number). Usually rounds are 10-9. Unlikely to be a draw in a 3 round match. Have to lose one round 10-8 while winning the other rounds 10-9, or perhaps lose a point via penalty.

the sanchez fight was laughable, like 10 years younger and a natural part of the weight class.

i thought griffin had *WAY* more spirit/energy and future potential as a fighter
