Home game 500 total chips i have 210 my friend has 290 we are close friends pay out is typical party strutuce 10 player pay out I am significantly better then him fully understanding heads up strategy as a matter of fact all i do is play heads up games on PP now how should we split the remaining 160 since nobody wants to wait.

I would say 50/50 unless everybody there knew you were a way better HU player then him.

If you want to do it the easy way - 50/50.

If you want to do it the harder way - each player gets paid 2nd place money. The remaining money is divided up by chipcount. So if after paying you both 2nd place say $25 is left - he gets $14.50 and you get $10.50.

If you want to do it the extremely hard way you can do the above and take into account your skill level, blinds, small-stack premium, etc...

Equity chop is simple, you have 42% of the chips, so you get 42% of first and 58% of second. Vice versa for your opponent. Everything beyond that is a negotiation.

How to split pot? You probably want 2 ziploc baggies. SOme people would suggest the use of a scale, but I find that eyeballing it is sufficient, especially among friends.
